How to apply for a duplicate PAN card?

Anyone who wishes to apply for a PAN card must follow a few simple steps.

Even if you are a group of people limited liability partnership Hindu Undivided Family or so on you can apply for the PAN by visiting the official website of National Securities Depository Limited of the Income Tax Department. In case you have lost your PAN card you will have to first file an FIR. After which you will have to request for reprinting your PAN by handing over your old number and a copy of your FIR. A number of people do not wish to go through the lengthy legal process. Thus they directly apply for a new PAN card.

But please note that this can be done only if the applicant has been allotted a PAN card which due to some reasons needs to be reprinted. In such a scenario the PAN does not change with only a new card with other modifications provided.

Here are the steps to get a duplicate PAN card online

Visit the official website of TIN NSDL www.onlineservices.nsdl.com and go to the option of Reprint of PAN card

Choose the apply option and select the kind of PAN you wish to replace the duplicate one with.

Fill up the form and do mention necessary information including Permanent Account Number name address email id phone number and so on. One should make sure that he or she does not click on any of the options on the left hand side of the form.

After filling the form important documents including ID proof date of birth and photographs need to be submitted along with the proof of the existing card which a person wishes to reprint.

Make the required payment through net banking debit or credit card or demand draft.

After the payment is done and all required documents are submitted an acknowledgment will be given. This will be a unique 15 digit number that can be used for future correspondence with authorities.

After all the documents are verified the PAN card will be dispatched and will reach you in around 15 days.
