PAN Card status check by name and date of birth is possible now. When a PAN card seeking person applies for it, an acknowledgement number is provided. What the person needs is to keep that number with till the PAN card is sent by the Income Tax Department. Checking PAN Card status online is possible by logging-in on the official website - NSDL.com.
After logging in, click on the check PAN Card status. This will lead to new page which will have the url tin.tin.nsdl.com/pantan/StatusTrack.html_bkp24052013. Here date of birth, name and acknowledgement number will need to be provided. Once this information is submitted, PAN Card Status will be displayed on the computer monitor.
